Ever since my first sip of natural coffee, I’ve been obsessed. That first sip made me want to make coffee just like it, with diverse and exotic flavors like banana, blackberries and tamarind. From that moment on, I began the search for the perfect natural coffee. Fast forward to the present day, and we have spent seven years developing natural coffees and figuring out how to brew a delicious cup. We are so happy with our results!
I fell in love with coffee eight or nine years ago when I decided I needed to learn more about it, especially since I was embarrassed to be Colombian and not know! From that moment on, I haven’t stopped learning. I have studied, trained and traveled to countries like Guatemala, Panama, Vietnam, Tolima, Japan and more, always searching for more knowledge.
My grandfather was a farmer, and I grew up completely immersed in that life. I loved running through corn fields, swimming in rivers, climbing trees to sit on the branches and eat guavas, and getting lost in the scent of a freshly sliced mango. My grandfather taught me how to love the open fields, my father taught me perseverance and dedication, and my sister taught me trust and creativity.
I love coffee because every cup holds a rich story, and it fills me with happiness to know that our work is benefitting people’s lives. When people ask me what it’s like to be a woman in a male industry, I don’t really understand the question, because my whole life I have seen women working as much, if not more, than the men. I have always felt a deep sense of admiration for them, for the way they care for their families, the coffee, and pour themselves into each and every one of their roles.
